“I was just another little kid on my block who used to run & jump around.

I was six years old when I went on this daycare field trip. All I can really remember is the gym was split into two sections, the rec & at the back was where all the team girls were working out.

I remember I kept peeking back there & I would see these girls on tramps & on beams, tumbling & flipping & I was like, “I think I can do that.”

So then I started copying them & then a coach came over… I didn’t think at that moment my life would have changed & I would be who I am today…”

Simone Biles is the most decorated gymnast in history, fast forward eighteen years, ups, downs & another flip-filled weekend.

Renowned for performing moves so difficult, so distinctive that other gymnasts don’t dare try & several have even been named after her.

The defending Olympic champion is simply in a league of her own.

When asked in an interview why she does these difficult moves, without hesitation she replied, “Because I can.”
