What is Marsai Martin Famous For?

Known for her role as Diane Johnson in the comedy series, ‘Black-ish,’ Marsai Martin earned the Guinness World Records title for her breakout fantasy comedy film ‘Little’ in 2019, where she also stars as young Joran Sanders.

The idea for the movie began in her living room where she first brought the idea to her parents.

After workshopping the concept then 10 years old, Martin took her proposal to Blackish creator, Kenya Barris, and in her own words, “the rest was history.”

Martin also signed a deal with Universal Pictures developing scripted projects.

Born 14 August 2004, was aged 14 years 241 days when her film Little was released on 12 April 2019.

Although she was not presented with the award until the following year, the record acknowledges that she was 14 years and 241 days old when “Little” was released.

Martin will appear in the 2021 edition of the physical Guinness World Records book. With several projects along the way, and while currently working on another film, “StepMonster” with her production company, Genius Productions. The trailblazing teen said she wants the younger generation to “see that anything is possible, no matter how old you are, no matter what time, what place, it has to all start with you.”

“I hope that all the young Black girls out there really see how a change can really happen, just by being yourself, just by any imagination you have that can run wild. You only live once so go for it,” Marsai said.
